ok, not STRICTLY PPSD related but could be

a problem with using cannabis as a 5ht1a agonist is that after chronic use it upregulates 5ht2a..this is a major problem for me...

it upregulates thourhg this mechanism and I was wondering if anyone had any suggestions on how to interupt this erk business to stop the upregulation happening?

More antioxidants would help, as oxidative stress seems to impact and increase ERK/MAPK - thus leading to excessive serotonin by means of oxidative stress....excess serotonin also seems to cause many of the flu like symptoms associated with chronic illness...as serotonin and histamine both participate in these reactions..serotonin causes the nausea and gastrointestinal discomfort, whereas histamine causes itching, sweating and sometimes headaches..though serotonin can cause headache type symptomology as well....with exception only of two receptors.

Additionally, you'd want to re-regulate cortisol .... MAPK activation seems to be a little different if activated by other factors and alone.

MAPK activation leads to increased SERT expression, effects opposite of an SSRI. http://www.ncbi.nlm.nih.gov/pubmed/15728187
